St. Paul, MN- House File 423, authored by Rep. Jeff Backer (R-Browns Valley), received its first hearing yesterday in the Health and Human Services Reform Committee.
In an effort to address some of the problems related to the sustainability of Rural Ambulance Services, HF 423 seeks to provide an opportunity to remove some hurdles, and streamline the process for ambulance services in rural Minnesota to use alternative staffing models.
“I am happy to that the Health and Human Services Reform Committee see the importance in giving our rural ambulance services the flexibility they need in order to meet staffing requirements,” said Backer. “This is an important step in ensuring that our communities in rural Minnesota have the capabilities to respond to an emergency situation in a timely manner.”
